Mentorship Goals
Mentorship goals are threefold –
1.To help students acquire knowledge from mentors
2.To help students apply acquired knowledge to their projects
3. To ensure that students complete the program successfully.
Mentor Responsibilities
Because we understand that our prospective mentors are very busy, we have tried our best to minimize responsibilities, while ensuring that mentorship is effective and impacting.
The following are the outlined duties for our Mentors:
1.Project Supervision and Management: Mentors will work with protégés on their respective projects/business plans off-site. Since we hope to have atleast two mentors per group/student, mentors are only expected to communicate with protégés at least once biweekly.
2.Class Instruction and Assistance: Mentors are strongly encouraged but are not required to lead at least 1 Life Skill workshop (details below), as well as show up to sessions when possible. Students prefer to work with mentors who show up regularly and help in class.
3.Student Progress Report: Mentors are expected to provide feedback on student interaction and progress.
4.Meetings: Mentors are required to attend our once a month networking mixers to discuss overall student progress, final presentation and interact with other mentors and/or students.
5.Orientation Workshop: Mentors will be required to attend a 1-day mandatory orientation meeting to introduce and discuss the program. Do feel free to email your questions prior to the Orientation Workshop. We will also answer all other questions or concerns you may have about the program at this Workshop.
